Homemade Cardamom Powder | Elaichi Powder

Green cardamom or Elaichi, is a sweet and aromatic spice, is a must-have for Indian desserts and is equally critical for curries and other masala dishes. Cardamoms powder is an aromatic, charming taste enhancer made by grinding cardamom to a fine powder.  When using the whole pod, it should be removed before consuming the dish. And for desserts, discard the outer pod and use a mortar and pestle to grind the seeds into a coarse powder. Cardamom seeds or pods are sometimes chewed to refresh the breath and as a digestive aid. Cardamom has various uses ascribed in traditional medicine. While there has been some scientific research into using cardamom for health benefits, not enough has been done to merit a report by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, a division of the National Institutes of Health.
